Rev. Dave Ogilvie became our Minister in August of 2017. He is the father of three grown daughters and four growing grandchildren, all of whom make him very proud.
Dave likes to say he was “raised by nomads” because his family moved frequently. By the time he finished high school in Ancaster, Dave had lived in eight different Southern Ontario communities. As an adult, he has honored the nomadic tradition of his parents, living in five different Canadian provinces and serving as a Baptist pastor in each of those provinces. Along the way, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, a Master of Divinity degree from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Education degree from UPEI.
Being Baptist is important to Dave, but his view of faith is much broader than his own tradition. Wherever he has served as a minister, Dave has been involved ecumenically with clergy and leaders from other Christian denominations, as well as working cooperatively with members of other faith traditions. His commitment is to building healthy and engaged communities of faith whose members are dedicated to supporting one another and to working for peace and justice throughout the world.
